Repack Update - WHTN 39 is Done

- Posted February 13th, 2020 at 4:39pm
Well, the repacking of WHTN 39 (rf 16) is now done. They just powered up earlier today. Now, we just have to wait on WZTV and WNAB. Also, WNPT 8 will be later this year, and WLLC 42 is sometime between now and July of next year. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Thanks. On my Hdhomerun, middle of the day, I'm showing WHTN 60% signal strength and 0% signal quality and 0% symbol quality, which is only slightly better than I'll show from a frequency with no transmitted signal whatsoever. For instance, nearby RF15 shows 38% signal strength even though there is no signal on that frequency. On my LG tv, it does have enough symbol strength to indicate 16.1 on my screen, but only 26% signal strength, and 1% signal quality, and of course, no picture. This is from 61 miles and 263 degrees from my location. Interestingly, pre repack I could receive this signal probably 60% of the time.

I used to get this channel but for several months now I haven't received it. The repack didn't help.

My problems started at the beginning of the repack in Oct 2019, I had all the OTA channels in the Brentwood area, WKRN Ch2, WSMV Ch4, WTVF Ch5, WNPT Ch8, WZTV Ch17, WNPX Ch28, WUXP Ch30, WHTN Ch39, WJFB Ch44, WPGD Ch50, lost WNAB ch58. Rescanned several times, no luck. Then FEB 2020 lost WZTV Ch17 and WNPX Ch28. Have rescanned and tried different TV's with no luck. I guess it is wait and see.

I rescanned today(2/24) and for the first time in months I now get channel 39. I don't believe I have had it since the first rescan months ago with Channel 5.
