What is Going on with WWHL-LD 27

- Posted September 27th, 2024 at 2:22pm
You may have heard from Leatherneck97, which he beat me to it, that WWHL-LD 27's license has been cancelled meaning they can no longer broadcast, but per this signal graph, they have been broadcasting for at least the past two weeks, and they are still broadcasting. So, I have no idea what is going on. I will email someone who is more knowledgeable w/ the rules to find out more about it. Once I will get a reply, I will post it here. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

From what I read in the FCC document they are to shut down and not operate. That's very concerning.

I checked today and they are still broadcasting. All the channels (Heartland, RetroTV, ect.) are on as if nothing has happened. I don't understand how they can do this, or am I missing something?

Yeah, I don't understand either. I was awaiting a reply back from someone with the FCC about this issue, and I haven't received anything back yet.

WWHL-LD shut down their signal at 9 Eastern yesterday. It seems the FCC made their decision final.

You're welcome. I only seen it because I knew the station would go down soon.

Can anyone shed some light on what is happening with the 44 channels? For the last month we have not been able to find them and we are approx 65 miles east of Nashville. We cannot find answers any place. I was addicted to Mash , Matlock and Mama's Family.

It's been good for me for a while. What type of antenna are you using?

We have a channel master with range of 150 mile. Outdoor, and extended our pole to where it is above our roof line. It is just really odd. We are near the Smithville/Cookeville TN area

I live farther out than you do and I get them great. Could be the antenna is faulty or coax cable? Do you have an amplifiers or splitters in the line? How I would check is using another coax cable to see if something is wrong with the current one you're using.

Thanks , it was just funny it hit all of a sudden. We have been checking everything but found nothing yet. I was just wondering if they had reduced the bandwidth but you answered that question for us.
