WZTV and WNAB Update

- Posted February 24th, 2020 at 6:40pm
I just happen to see that both WZTV and WNAB have applied for another temporary setup. This time it is to move them to their new antennas at the top. They will still be using their temporary transmitters. They are now just waiting on the new transmitters to be delivered and installed. Once they are installed they will power up. All the details are below. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Current Setup:
WZTV - 1051ft at 68.43kw
WNAB - 1051ft at 130kw

New Temporary Setup:
WZTV - 1401ft at 111.55kw
WNAB - 1348ft at 127.35kw

Final Setup:
WZTV - 1401ft at 1000kw
WNAB - 1348ft at 510kw

Good news. Thanks for your work and diligence! May help me get them a little more often. I'm getting WNAB only early, clear mornings right now, but still more often than pre repack. I'm currenlty getting WZTV almost never; about 70% of the time pre repack. I think I'll need them both at their final output to get them reliably. I don't think aim will help, because my rabbitears report shows them both at the same azmith as WTVF from me and the same distance, and that WTVF signal comes in up to 80% signal strength. It's even stronger than my local Cookeville station most times that's only 7 miles away, albeit almost 90 degrees from my antenna aim.

I get WZTV most all the time with 2-3 bar signal here in southern Kentucky but even with WNAB having more power right now, I still don't get it except early mornings, nothing during the day.

I have been picking up WZTV and WNAB again near Bowling Green in recent days. The signals do not appear to be full strength, but have been providing a consistent signal and a watchable picture. I would guess their main antennas are now in place, but not yet running at full power. Excited to have these signals back.
