WUXP will be Split Up Next Month

- Posted September 22nd, 2021 at 2:02pm
I just found out that WUXP will be split between three stations beginning Oct. 14th. Of course, you already know that 30.1 MyNetwork TV is on WKRN. Now, when Oct. 14th comes around, 30.2 GetTV will stay on WZTV while 30.3 Comet will go over to WSMV. The new 1.0 lineups will be as below. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

WKRN RF 27
2.1-2.4 (unchanged)
30.1 WUXP-MY

WZTV RF 20
17.1 Fox 17
17.2 CW
17.3 Antenna
17.4 TBD
30.2 Get-TV

WSMV RF 10
4.1-4.5 (unchanged)
30.3 Comet

They REALLY should have done these all at ONCE! Since we have to re-scan every time. This is getting a bit annoying. Just bundle all these changes up for ONE day or so. With the way they're doing it, it's like every few weeks. Lord! Obviously upside Comet will FINALLY have more bandwidth. I WISH they'd add it in HD. But I have doubts about that.

Well I can say goodbye To Comet! WSMV still broadcasts on VHF, horrible to no reception. Maybe one day WSMV will increase it’s power, only channel I cannot pick up of all the Nashville stations.

Comet is already live now as a sub-channel on WSMV (RF 10). Also seems like WSMV is on reduced power? My signal levels for them isn't as good as it usually is. Comet is still on Fox17 (WZTV) as well. I guess their theory is most folks won't notice until they re-scan their TVs for PSIP.

Well, it's gone now. My reception dipped a little, but the tuner in Hendersonville didn't miss a beat. Because of that, I don't think they lowered power. I think both your reception and mine were affected due to the weather. I think they were just testing out the link to Comet.

It's gone now. I was going to do a channel scan. But I have to be able to get all available channels in one go. But power levels are back up too. I best testing. It didn't look any better though. Probably since WSMV also has alot on their signal.

Currently seeing Comet on both RF 10 and RF 20. I knew virtual channels could be split like this, but what a mess!

Well, I missed it, because right now, there is no Comet on WSMV. They might have been testing out the link to Comet getting prepared for next week.

Well Comet is back on WSMV again. They've got to be testing. I'm sure like yesterday it's temporary.

It is 1:35pm, and Comet is still on WSMV as I type this. I don't know about any one else, but I think it looks a little smoother on WSMV than it does on WZTV. I guess because WZTV has two HD channels while WSMV only has one.

I couldn't tell a difference between the two. I know the PSIP will keep 30.3 on WZTV until they stop broadcasting on that RF channel. Even though it shows up there. I guess it MIGHT show up for WSMV RF 10, IF it was received and WZTV wasn't.
