WRTN RF 17 is On the Air - Updated

- Posted May 10th, 2022 at 5:55pm
Just before 4pm, WNTU RF 26 went off the air. Then just a few minutes ago, WRTN RF 17 came on the air. It is right now in the very early stage. What I mean is, you might need to wait about an hour for him to get everything sorted out. Usually when a station first comes on the air, it takes a little while to get warmed up. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Updated 5/11/22 at 11:30am: - Right now, for some reason, Rick, WRTN's owner, has now started back broadcasting his programming on WNTU RF 26 while WRTN RF 17 is still broadcasting but with nothing on it. So, if you rescan now, you will be picking up WNTU RF 26 as 6.x. I will keep updating this post as much as I can, but I have other things to get to. So, I will post when I can. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Updated 2:06pm: - Well, for right now and the past hour or two, he is now broadcasting both channels with the same programming, and he has them at a lower power than what they are suppose to be. So, if you rescan now, you will either have two sets of 6s or one set of 6s and a set of 26s beginning with 26.3. Then, again, you might get nothing at all. Those channels depends on your TV's manufacturer. Some manufacturers do multiple sets of channels while others push another set of the same channels back to their broadcasting channel. Maybe, hopefully, he will be able to get this all settled by the end of the day. Unless something really big happens with these two channels, I probably won't be updating this post again. Speaking of again, until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Seeing that the "impossible-for-me-to-get" WAAY from Huntsville, AL, is ALSO on RF 17. I don't see myself getting either lol. I have enough trouble with WAFF, and WHNT.

Channel 6's signal is stronger today than it was last night, but nothing is on it right now.

Picking up WRTN for the first time here in Brentwood. They seem to be broadcasting only three of their sub-channels right now, 6.1 Daystar, 6.3 This, and 6.4 Classic TV. Just amazing to me that I can pick it up here, but can still pick up WSMV only in one room of the house.

WRTN must be off of the air this morning? I'm getting no signal.

No, it's still broadcasting. It may not be at full strength. That is what is happening with RF 17, but WNTU 26 looks like he is turning it off and on, mostly being off the majority of the time. From the way it looks, it looks like he is still working on it. I am thinking of sending him an e-mail. He may not respond, but I thought I would give it a shot. If he does, I will post it.

It must be at very low power because I scanned on both antennas and I'm getting no signal.

The 17 signal is not at full strength, but I can confirm that the WNTU 26 signal is completely off the air. I am able to receive the 17 signal, and it is carrying nothing. It doesn't lock in as 6.x, there's no video or audio, nothing.

I am able to receive WRTN 6 on frequency UHF 17.

No signal after a recan on WRTN-6 (RF17) in Lebanon, but I have noticed WNTU 26.1 is back on the air with Daystar, but no sub channels.

Well, both WRTN and WNTU are on the air. WRTN (RF 17) hasn't been off the air since Tuesday or Wed. of last week.
