WKUW 40 and WCTZ 35 are Back!

- Posted February 8th, 2020 at 12:09pm
Yes, both channels are back, but I believe that WCTZ is not fully powered, because even though I am now getting it, it is still not as strong as WKUW. It is suppose to broadcast 5kw more than WKUW, and also, the only thing they are broadcasting right now is "Test Signal On" on all their channels. Maybe this is it. I am hoping all they have left to do is to fill in those network feeds on WCTZ and raise the power up on it. In other news, I will be posting something big in a few days. Until then, that's all for now.

Matt Dillon is back on my screen! Yay, yay, yay, yay,! Thank God Me-TV is back on! This has been a horrible week and I am so glad it is back!

I was able to watch channel 35 for 1 day. Now there is no sound or picture. But it shows a very good signal strength on the meter still. Weird Additional note: I'm using a Tivo DVR

I wish I could get 40, because 44 is pixelating this evening while Curly Howard chews on a table leg. Time to tinker with antenna aim.

I have never had a problem with 35, 40 or 44 when they were on air. Does anyone know anything about WRTN Ch.6? Retro TV hasn't been on for many weeks. Has the network folded or has channel 6 decided to not show it?

No, I haven't heard anything about WRTN. It will be anytime between now and July 3rd when WRTN will have to switch from channel 7 to 17. I will e-mail and see if I can get any more information on that.

Channels 44.1 thru 5 have been having problems for a while. Luckily I can get ME TV on channel 40.3 out of Bowling Green KY.

This is a test comment. Nothing to see here!

Channel 31 WJDE is now having problems. All of the channels are just a black screen.

I am having crossover in some of my channels, I live in south central ky and get 40.1-40.3 from bowling green, I just ran a scan and now I get 40.4, 40.5 but its at low power 1 bar where the other 40.1-40.3 is 3 bar. also i am getting 32.5, 32.6, 32.7 and they are 4 bar signal, i am getting several me tv's and several ion tv's as well as qvc and shop, i get 66 channels now and I still don't have WNAB working, when it gets up and running I will have 70 channels. WOW I hope it stays this way.

I want to know what the big news is going to be???

- Posted on February 9th, 2020 at 8:17am

@botts_w probably just an atmospheric anomaly. I'm getting better than expected reception this (the next) morning also. Not 70 channels, but maybe 33 instead of my regular 23. I didn't really count, but I've got two more RF signals solid and one more pixelated than what I normally see. This situation always gives me temporary excitement. @murphysmomma. Is your question serious or sarcastic? Either way, please explain what your asking us. Not big news here often, but sometimes; like vital repack info. and they'll likely be ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV) info to report this coming Fall. Nashdigie has set this site up and uses it to report changes or problems or resolutuons to reception issues in this area, so we can all better understand what's going on in lieu of local media or broadcasters providing information for OTA viewers, which is next to nothing beyond this site. This site is also here to report programming changes, adds, deletes, or news of upcoming changes and also issues with certain subchannels within a signal that ocur from time to time. At least that's what this site does for me as a deep fringe tv viewer. Thanks to all that participate and report.

No, was not being sarcastic. The original post stated “I will be posting something big in a few days”. Was just wondering what that news will be.

Whoa! I'm looking at a WCTV-LD 35 test screen this morning from just north of Cookeville. It's showing with 55% signal quality on my Hdhomerun tuner and hopping from 38-43 percent on my LG tuner. I can't recall ever receiving a single, low power signal out of Nashville before. It should be noted that all my weak signals are higher quality than normal this morning. I've got WNAB-58 pretty solid and WZTV-17 pixelating when they're generally both black since repack. I have no signal on WKUW-40 however, I have seen it on my screen before. If I leave my LG tuner set on RF28 for WKUW, it shows a solid 26% signal strength and 1% signal quality, and a black screen, which is not unusual for any frequency on the UHF band that has no transmission in the area, so it's not even close to coming in. On the Homerun tuner, I can't manually stop it from scrolling beyond rf-28, but either way, it won't lock it in. I've added 35 on LG and will rescan the hdhomerun just in case I can get it it rougher times.

I am now getting channel 35 WCTZ on my bedroom TV for the first time ever.

- Posted on February 9th, 2020 at 9:17pm - Edited

yea the 70 is gone but thats ok, i am getting my regular 65 channels. WNAB is now working even tho its at 1 bar, be glad when they are fixed i used to get 2-3 bars. oh forgot to add that i am just 16ft up using a 20 year old but in perfect shape antenna, may go higher in a few months but love my signals so far.

I think they fixed the problem on WCTZ - Ch. 35. I can get Buzzr & Quest right now.

- Posted on February 21st, 2020 at 8:43pm

It's good to see WCTZ again. It's the strongest low power station here. I enjoy Quest and Buzzr.
