WKRN 2.4 is Now 365BLK

- Posted May 5th, 2025 at 2:22pm
Since last week, WKRN 2.4 has been going through an identity crisis. For a long awhile, it has been home for Rewind TV network, owned by Nexstar, the same company that owns WKRN, but last week, for a little while it switched to the 365BLK network. Then, not long after that, they switched it back to Rewind TV while keeping the EPG showing the 365BLK schedule. Now, today, they have switched it back again to 365BLK network. Whether this will stay, I have no idea. Also, I don't have any idea why they got rid of their own network and switched it out with a network they don't own. Anyways, until more news breaks, that's all for now.

The corporate owner of a local station will remove its owned network from that station's subchannels if another company offers more $$$ to carry their network than the corporation is making from broadcasting a diginet they own.

Since "The 365/365BLK" is on so many LP channels and independent ones. I'm sure the owners of 365 are paying channels to carry it. Personally I don't have a problem with it being on more than one channel. But it's everywhere. I too enjoyed Rewind. It's one of the reasons I worked so hard to get OTA going here in McMinnville. Why they can't just add another sub-channel for Rewind TV is beyond me. They may be trying to do just that. But their encoder won't allow more than what they have now. It's also possible they will part-time them both on the same channel.

Just wondering if there is any word about Rewind TV returning to the Nashville area ?

Nothing yet. I'll ask around to see if Rewind will come back to the market.

WLLC (42) is finally making a channel change. They have moved ARTS from 42.5 to 42.3 and 42.5 now has a test pattern. 42.5 is identifying as: All Sports Television. I'm guessing it will be a sports channel, but I don't when it will go on the air.

On an unrelated note, has the MeTV Stations channel 44 , decreased their power? Until recently I could pickup a decent signal with my attic antenna in Clarksville… I haven’t been able to get a watchable signal anytime day or night in a few weeks…

No, they haven't, but I can tell you this, and it may not be relatable to you, but WKUW-LD 40 was off the air yesterday and then they came back on the air last night but with limited power. I haven't been able to receive them well since May, and I use to receive them rock solid before then.

I've also noticed lately that WUXP and WZTV have been harder to receive. I thought it was tropo but I think they're having power issues.

They (WZTV 1.0, WUXP 3.0, and WNAB 3.0) have been having power issues. At times, they would be off the air completely. The last time they were off the air was this past Saturday. I am hoping they are done with those power outages.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. I know last night it was a crazy night for tropo so I thought it may have been that but on Tuesday night I could not receive WUXP or WZTV for the CW to watch NXT.

Gray TV stations in state have partnered with UT Sports so that WSMV, WVLT, & WMC have been named the Official Television Stations of the Tennessee Volunteers. Gray hopes to televise more UT sports events on its state digi-nets. They also hope to reach a deal with with stations in Chattanooga and Jackson to carry Vols programming.

Would WBXX be included in that since it's owned and operated by Gray Television? I answered my own question. It will only be on Tennessee Valley SEN affiliates. It looks like that WBXX will be playing the same games as the dedicated sports network channels. I get it on tropo everyday but it's 1080i compared to the dedicated 720p subchannels on WSMV and WAFF.

Lately my best reception is channel 2, the other local stations are hit and miss for me… but I am about to give up dealing with watching TV that requires an antenna.

It's the summer weather that causes your reception to go out. Give it a few more weeks and hopefully it will calm down. I managed to get Paducah and Lexington from tropo last night so it doesn't surprise me if that's still happening today.

A few nights ago I was picking up a couple of Kentucky stations … one was Bowling Green … seemed odd because it was right after or maybe during a thunderstorm
