WJFB 44 New Signal Delayed

- Posted May 21st, 2021 at 6:25pm
I just got an update from my Weigel contact. He said, "Due to winds at the 1300’ level, we’re delayed. We now expect to go on air tomorrow (Saturday).". We will now have to wait until tomorrow for the new signal. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Updated May 22nd at 7pm: - I am going ahead and calling it delayed for today as well. I haven't heard anything new as of this time nor has there been any changes with WJFB 44, WKUW 40, and WPGD 50. They are still running the same power as they have been the past few days. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Another Update May 23rd at 1:20pm - If you haven't seen it yet, here is the new post - WJFB New Signal Update. I will post again later today.

Thanks man for the update. There is wind alright! That's why I can't watch WKRN most of the time (see my post on AVS Nashville) lol.

I agree. Thanks for the update. It'll keep me from scanning every hour

My antenna was not working very well today… not sure maybe the wind … even the channels that are usually good were barely watchable today

I'm edge 2 here in McMinnville. So the slightest breeze and I loose WKRN. That's with a antenna specifically for that station too.

I performed a channel re-scan around 12:15 am Friday and I lost 40, but gained 44, which I cannot receive at all in Gallatin. I checked my advanced diagnostics on my TV and the physical channel was 28, which belongs to WKUW. After reading here that WJFB isn't going live until Saturday, I did another re-scan, and 44 went away and 40 came back, with physical channel 28 again.

Yeah, I guess they couldn't wait to try out the new equipment for WJFB 44 so since 44's signal wasn't ready yet, they decided to try it out on WKUW 40's signal. That is just my guess.

Same here in Portland but still have the 40s on the back antenna

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say they've delayed again. There is a lot of wind. Has been all day.

So far, that is what it looks like. I haven't heard anything new, and both WJFB 44, WKUW 40, and WPGD 50 signals have stayed put. They haven't changed.

I can't receive a signal from channel 40 WKUW today. I was receiving it last night.

They have been running it on lower power the past few days. I have been receiving it as in and out, then pretty much nothing the past few hours. They may have lowered it even more. That's my guess.

During nightly skip I was able to get WJFB. But the last few days I haven’t been. So like you said. It must be even lower.

I’m done scanning until I see here that this drama is over. It seems they were a bit too optimistic in their expectations of the change over, not taking all aspects into consideration. Like wind, heat, traffic, fog, & other unforeseen signal intrusions. I do hope WJRB comes back as here outside of Portland theirs is a favored group of channels
