WBKO Power Update

- Posted May 6th, 2021 at 9:42pm
In an earlier post, I brought up about both near by stations that broadcasts on channel 13 (WBKO - Bowling Green, KY and WRCB - Chattanooga, TN) that have construction permits granting them power increases. Last night, I decided to e-mail and try to get information on the progress of those increases. Even though I haven't heard anything yet from WRCB, I did get a reply from the engineer at WBKO. The only thing he said was this: - "At this point we do not have a date for this project." I am hoping that I will get an e-mail back from WRCB about their increase. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Thank you NashDigie for taking your time to find out about WBKO.....I am in Antioch and I can pickup channel 13 pretty good but wish they had a stronger signal for stability. Again Thanks for your time and this great website.

I did a channel scan yesterday here in Fairview (I do this at least weekly) and suddenly I am picking up Bowling Green or Nashville LD stations 35.1 through 35.7. The signal is only in the 30% arena with my ChannelMaster Digital Advantage 100 but very few drop outs. Then, as quickly as they came, they were gone.

Yes, that would be WCTZ 35. They broadcast from the antenna farm in northern Davidson County. They are on the same tower as WKUW 40 and WPGD 50. Actually, WCTZ 35 and WKUW 40 both broadcast from the same antenna. WCTZ is licensed for Bowling Green, KY only because that is where that channel originated. The owners never did change the COL (community of license).

Looks like they are transmitting a whopping 15kw. Wonder how I picked it up at all.

In La Vergne I get 40 & 44. This morning 40 said No Signal, but it is back now. Looking forward to the power coming back up.
