W35DZ 3.0 35 is Now Live

- Posted August 25th, 2023 at 1:21am
Per this article, W35DZ-D in Cookeville is now on the air with their ATSC 3.0 signal. They say it is being used as a testbed for the capabilities of 3.0. I am hoping someone can tell me what they see because right now, I am unable to receive them if they are broadcasting at 15kw and not 3kw. I will update you if any more news about W35DZ becomes available.

Update 8/26/23 at 11:40pm: - Thanks to KyL416 over on the AVS Forum, he was able to point out in the article that the service would be coming this fall, and they haven't yet applied for a license to cover the permit for 15kw. I overlooked these two important pieces of information. Sorry about that. I have emailed the WCTE engineer. I am hoping to get a reply back sometime next week. When I do, I will post it in a new post. Until then or when other news breaks, that's all for now.

I'm 36.4 miles away from W35DZ and I cannot get it at this time on my tuner.

I'm 43.15 miles from WCTE/W35DZ. I can't get anything. I used to get W35DZ sometimes when it was 1.0 with my antenna aimed for W14EE.

I thought I had a sniff of quality the other night but it was probably WCTZ from Nashville with all the tropo going on.
