W15ER Channel 15 Update

- Posted August 18th, 2021 at 5:10pm
I have just received an e-mail from Mr. Brian Lane of Marquee Broadcasting Kentucky, Inc. His e-mail is as follows:

"We plan to keep the station in downtown Nashville so that it covers the metro area. We will assign it the call letters from another low power station we own in Albany, GA, so it will become WDRJ. We plan to operate the station remotely from our NBC/CBS television station in Bowling Green, KY.

As for content, we are discussing carriage of some new smaller networks. We plan to carry up to eight subchannels and we have some interesting ideas for new content. If you have your own ideas, we would be happy to hear them. We expect to close the transaction in September, following FCC approval."

So, if anybody has any programming ideas, please feel free to comment below or send me an e-mail on the contact page, and I will send it along to him. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

You think that is a lot, Channel 31 carries 13 channels.

I see. That one is quite LP. Being in McMinnnville, I am lucky to get most of the main channels. Also when I DO get RF 31. It's WBXX from Crossville.

Yeah, Their biggest problem is the tower channel 31's antenna is on. Around 480 feet. That's not good for a low power TV station. It's not the greatest signal even for me. You would not be able to receive them no matter how tall their tower was. I had no idea that they could put 13 networks on one channel until they did it.

Will the coverage map be the same? It seems that Dickson will be out of range.

I too would like to see MeTV+. I'm sure it will be added to the existing MeTV station would it not? WJFB.

That would seem to be Weigel's intent, given they bought WJFB to bring all of its networks to one channel. However, our esteemed website host's May 23 post stated he "asked about MeTV Plus" and his Weigel/WJFB contact said, "No plans at this time." So if they hadn't planned to air the channel, maybe they intend to shop it or otherwise allow it to air elsewhere,,,

Here are my programming ideas, The Accu Weather Channel. WJXT Channel 4 Jacksonville FL, and some television stations from different parts of the world.

I have done suggested the AccuWeather Channel myself. Sorry about WJXT, but no station can broadcast another station from outside the local market.

This TV has been off on WRTN for some time now. I wonder if it will return when they increase their power?(if that ever happens!) If not some other channel should pick it up.

I sure hope WRTN moves to channel 17 soon....Any news on that front?

The last I heard was that he, the owner of WRTN, was in the process of getting things ready. What that means? I have no idea.
