Two New Channels Coming

- Posted July 31st, 2026 at 9:10am
A while back, the FCC opened up the market for low power channel applications for new stations to be created, and also major changes made to current low power channels. Well, as of yesterday, two of those new channel applications were granted, meaning that within the next 3 years, they can start broadcasting. They are W02DC-D RF 2 in northern Williamson County and W13DZ-D RF 13 in downtown Nashville. I have links to their broadcast range below. W02DC is set to broadcast at the maximum a VHF low power can at 3kW, while W13DZ is just going to broadcast at .4kw (400w). Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

W02DC's range seems particularly odd to me, directed from here in Brentwood up to the Kentucky line, rather than radiating out to include Nashville, Dickson, Columbia, and Murfreesboro.

That is weird. I expected it to be towards those areas you described.

According to the map, I'll be on the line of being able to pick it up but the other one I'll have no chance of getting.

W13DZ would interfere with WBKO out of Bowling Green, KY if the pattern has been towards the North. W02DC is something I'll never get.
