Sinclair is Looking to Sell Some Stations

- Posted May 9th, 2024 at 2:32pm
I just learned that Sinclair Broadcast Group, the owner of WZTV Fox 17 and WUXP MyTV 30 and operator of WNAB 58, are looking into selling some of their stations. The article by CNBC, linked below, says that the specifics has not been worked out including which stations they are willing to sell. Does this include either WZTV or WUXP? As I find out more information, I will post it. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Nice find, Nashdigie! That was an interesting article but some of it seems speculative with very little evidence so far. I'd love to read more about it in the future to see if it comes true. Maybe just how the person wrote the article made me seem suspicious of how true it really is.

With WUXP (21) and WNAB (30) being 3.0 stations/lighthouses, I wonder what that would mean for 3.0 in the Nashville area too.

I thought of that exact question too, Xmguy. I wouldn't think they would sell them because they are money makers but as I look at it more they may end up doing it.

I have a feeling that if Sinclair does sell off some of their local TV stations, it will be those in lower ranked TV markets, but you never know these days.

WKRN is offline right now. I seen reports from this sites reception report and it is gone from the map. EDIT: WKRN is back to normal.
