Scripps Moving Diginets Update
- Posted February 25th, 2021 at 11:00am
Update 2/26: - I just now found out that CourtTV will be on WNPX 28.2 and Grit will be on WNPX 28.3, and again, I do not know if they will stay on WSMV 4.4 or WKRN 2.4 respectively. Given that they have contracts, I am just guessing they will stay put until those contracts expire. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.
Update 2/26 at 2:40pm: - Thanks to both Brentwood OTA and n2radio below, there are now more changes. Bounce will be showing up on WTVF 5.3 and 5.13. Also, Qubo and ION Plus will be going off the air tomorrow morning. This is fluid situation. Please stayed tune for further updates.
Update 2/27: - At the time I am typing this, both Grit and CourtTV have already started on WNPX. Right now, the programming says CourtTV on 28.2, Grit on 28.3, and Laff on 28.4, but Grit is airing on 28.2 and CourtTV is airing on 28.3. It looks like Laff hasn't started on 28.4 yet. I will update later today on any changes. Some of you may leave a comment updating more than what I have just posted. That is fine. Like I said before, please stay tuned for further updates.
Update 2/27 at 6pm: - They have now corrected the Grit and CourtTV mixup, and they have also added Laff to 28.4. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

According to TitanTV, Qubo and IonPlus will go off-air tomorrow morning (2/27) at 5am. There are no further listings and it shows "Off Air" for both.

Well, everything's been moved for a week or so and looks great on WNPX. Two things: when are Court TV, Grit and Laff going to leave the subchannels that they came from, and when will Bounce and Court TV Mystery make their moves?

Court TV, Grit, and Laff will leave when their contract with that station has expired. Laff is on WTVF, which both are owned by Scripps. I have to say Laff will probably move when Bounce's contract is up with WKRN. The reason I say that is when all this happened nearly two weeks ago, the online TV schedule website, Zap2it, had Bounce pop up on WTVF 5.3 Monday, March 1st, but Laff stayed on 5.3. So, my guess is that they can't air the same network on two major competing stations at the same time. It may be in the contract. Bounce may end up on WTVF 5.3 and 5.13. CourtTV Mystery I don't know where it will go. I am going to post about two new networks Scripps is launching this July that will probably occupy 28.5 and 28.6 taking over QVC and HSN respectively.

With a lot of the dignets moving over to WNPX 28 perhaps THIS! will make a comeback on one of the full power channels. I also think the Nashville market is large enough for a 24/7 local new channel.

It looks like Scripps will be adding a couple of new Diginets this summer. From the way this article reads, Doozy and Defy TV will be added to Ion channels on July 1. My guess would be 28.5 and 28.6. https://tvnewscheck.com/top-news/programming/article/scripps-to-launch-two-more-diginets/

Both Doozy and Defy offer reality-based programming? No, say it ain't so!

Any body heard word on when WJFB-DT 44 (MeTV, H&I, Decades, Light, et. al) will have its transmitter in the new location? I know it has been FCC approved. I can't pick it up in Fairview at all anymore and I have a Channel Master Digital 100 on the roof. :(
