I pretty much knew this was coming. Newsy, Scripps OTT news platform, will be coming to the airwaves beginning this Oct. 1st. Per the below articles, they say the network will be coming to either ION stations, Scripps-owned stations, or other broadcast group stations. My guess for here would either be WNPX or WTVF since Scripps owns both. Once I find out which station, I will post it. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Since WNPX is so low powered, I could see them using their WTVF signal instead. Who knows.

Since Bounce has yet to appear on WTVF as once planned, maybe they have continued to air Laff on 5.3 as a placeholder for Newsy? With "NewsChannel5" on 5.1, "NewsChannel5+" on 5.2, and Newsy on 5.3, they may see themselves as creating a news powerhouse (or overload, depending on your point of view). Whether it lands on WTVF or WNPX will depend on the emphasis Scripps will give to pushing its own national news network.
