New Info on WIIW-LD 14

- Posted September 4th, 2023 at 3:13pm
I have talked with Mark, the owner of Rabbitears.info and someone who works at the FCC. He says the reason they went back off the air is because they are violating their permit because since they are broadcasting on channel 14 which is right above land mobile frequencies they need to make sure they are not causing any interference before beginning any regular programming. That is probably what happened again today when they started broadcasting at 9am and now are off the air as of 2:30pm. So, until they can clear this up, they won't be on the air around the clock. Like always, until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Wow! Interesting info. I still worry that WIIW on RF 14, will cause issues for me getting W14EE, on the same RF.

Xmguy, I hope WIIW-LD doesn't interfere with your reception of W14EE-LD.

Thank you. Me too. I was able to get WNPX DT today on antenna at a new location. Had high hopes. But as usual RF, they were dashed when it left. I'll have to get my Huntsville setup back to normal. Lightning hit my old one.

Do you receive ION from Huntsville? I get it from the local ION affiliate and on my C-Band dish. The channels you can get on C-Band are better quality for watching but it's harder to set up if you have no clue what you're doing. SD channels like Defy and QVC are the same but the rest are a better quality.

It was WNXP from Nashville. I had a C-Band as a kid. But the Dish, tuner, etc are long gone. I'd love another one. But land, and equipment cost are a big issue. I'm also sure it's a matter of time before the REST of the C-Band is sold to the cellular companies.

Actually C-Band will be needed for the future. The FCC cannot sell all of spectrum because there are too many needs that come with it. I cannot name them all but there are a lot of things that satellites do that are too important to just not have consequences if not used at all. I have 4 dishes as of this moment. A 6 ft, 8 ft, 10ft, and a 12 ft. I know that people think they aren't used anymore but they really are worth it if you want free content. To me there is enough out there that if you set up an 8 ft dish then it would be worth it considering the countless things I see on there. I got my 12 ft dish from an older man close to Mcminnville not too long ago. So they are common enough to get them for free like I did mine. I am currently using the 12 ft dish and about to set up another one.

I watch a few C-Band and Ku Band users on YouTube. I wonder if I could use a Ku dish for the Ion channels? Also, Hmm. I live in McMinnville. Hit me up on email if you wish nnmusic1 AT G provider

You cannot receive ION on Ku Band but on C-Band you can receive it on AMC 1 at 103 West. I have sent you an email as you wanted me to. So I'll be waiting for a response there.
