Middle TN Tornadoes and DTV News

- Posted March 4th, 2020 at 5:04pm
First, I want to send my condolences to all the ones that either lost family members or friends and my thoughts and prayers for everyone that was affected by the tornadoes. I am providing links to each TV station's help page and links to several charities who are helping with the disaster relief below for people who want to donate. I will also provide these links on the main page for easy access to them.

Now for the DTV news, if anyone has noticed that WTVF's VHF 5 signal (5.11-5.13) has been showing nothing but black screens, it's not just you. They have had a problem with a piece of equipment. The e-mail is as follows: We found and identified a problem with a piece of equipment that is only part of the VHF signal chain. You should have video again on 5.11. And as he has stated, they have now fixed that problem and are broadcasting back on their VHF signal. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Those of us in the Cookeville Micropolitan area really appreciate all the support from the region, state and nation during this time. The EF-4 that hit Putnam Co, which included a small piece of Cookeville City proper, killed 18 and hospitalized 88; some of which were sent from Cookeville to trauma center hospitals in Nashville and Chattanooga and some of them are still struggling for their lives today. We've been visited by many state officials including the governor, Representative Rose, both U.S. senators, and the president of the United States, which was needed and appreciated here in the Cookeville area. Tennessee Strong!
