Lowering of Power and a New Network

- Posted February 15th, 2022 at 9:25am
First, I don't know if anyone has noticed but some of the low power stations have lowered their power. They are WNTU 26, WKUW 40, and WCTZ 35. Also, I think, not for sure but, WJNK 34 is off the air. Now since I think WJNK is off the air, I wonder if it may have something to do with them changing over to ATSC 3.0. I don't know. By the way, if you don't know, all of these stations I have mentioned are all on the same broadcast tower in north Nashville at the intersection Old Hickory Blvd. and I-24. So, it is either something they're doing or something happened with the tower. I will try to get more information.

Also, I saw where Weigel Broadcasting is beginning a new network. It will be called Story TV network. It will focus on nonfiction/documentary stories. You can find out more about the network at the links below. It will begin March 28th. I would say that WJFB will have it since that is their station, but in the articles below, they said they had a few affiliation agreements already in place. One of them being Marquee Broadcasting. The new owner of W09DM channel 9. So, with WJFB having six channels, I don't know if they will make a 7th channel or they have a deal in place to put it on channel 9. I don't know at this time, but when I find out, I will let you know. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

I just noticed that. WCTZ is back to the signal strength it was a few days ago. WNTU and WKUW are also much weaker. I'm not getting WJNK at all (no signal). Also W09DM has dropped all programing. It is still broadcasting a signal but there is nothing there. It's been that way since last weekend.
