Happy Birthday, WTVF NewsChannel 5!

- Posted August 6th, 2021 at 6:03pm
It was 67 years ago today that WTVF NewsChannel 5 came on the air. To tell you the truth, I probably wouldn't know it if it wasn't for them announcing it on the news today. I will also take this time to mention that I looked back at my past posts, and I noticed that I missed a much bigger one. I meant to acknowledge WSMV's big 70th Anniversary last year and I didn't. Now, WSMV will be celebrating their 71st birthday on September 30th of this year. Also, in a little over two years, WKRN will be reaching that same milestone on November 29th, 2023 when it reaches 70 years on the air. There has been a lot of history that has happened in Nashville as far as television is concerned. I just want to thank all of the TV stations for bringing us the news and entertainment over the years. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

If only it was those classic news anchors I grew up with. Sure we still have Bob Muller, and Davis Nolen on WKRN. But Lisa Patton on WKRN. Dan Miller, Bill Hall, and Demetria Kalodimus WSMV. Also their older logos. Ah the good ol days.

I am old enough to remember when channel 5 was WLAC-TV and Chris Clark, Bob Lobertini and John Lashlee did News, Weather and Sports.....Oh the good ole days! Thank you for this great website! Mike
