Despite Current Situation, ATSC 3.0 is Still a Go!

- Posted March 30th, 2020 at 3:43pm
According to this article from TVNewsCheck, Nashville's launch of ATSC 3.0 is still going to launch this summer as scheduled. Actually, to quote a piece from the article, Spectrum Co.'s John Hane said "that despite the challenge of COVID-19, launches in Pittsburgh, Nashville, Salt Lake City and Charleston are still planned for the first half of 2020." Yes, you heard him right. Nashville will have ATSC 3.0 before July 1st of this year. Negotiations of which station will be 3.0 and which will stay 1.0 are still up in the air, but when I find out anything, I will post it asap. By the way, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time. Like always, until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Anyone else having trouble with Channel 5 Nashville. When they did the switch over the sign all was really good. Now it fluctuates wildly.

Is the channel 5 you are having problems with, channel 5.1 or 5.11? If it is 5.11, that is their channel they broadcast on VHF 5. If it was just doing it yesterday (04/15), then it was probably other channel 5s coming in from different areas. If it is 5.1 you are talking about, then I do not know what problems you are having because for me, I haven't been having any problems with 5.1-5.3.
