BOLO for W14EE

- Posted May 24th, 2023 at 9:28am
If you don't know, BOLO means Be On the LookOut. I have received news that W14EE may go full power later this week. So, I am letting everyone know that might happen this week. When exaclty, I do not know. Until that happens or when more news breaks, that's all for now.

Update 2:45pm - Well, that didn't take long. They are now on the air. They came on the air at exactly 1pm, and it looks like I can't receive it at this time, but I can detect it. Like always, until more news breaks, that's all for now.

Good but I'm on vacation so I can't rescan for antenna channels. As soon as we get back I'll check to see if it is online.

Awesome! I'll have to connect via Remote Desktop to check, and scan if needed.

Xmguy we both have been waiting for this for so long but I can now have WSMV all the time now instead of the rare instance it comes in and you have NBC all the time instead of during the day.

Yep! It is. I can "see" the channel is there. But Can't decode it, now. But at night I should be able to. Hopefully. How bout you Leatherneck?

I'm not at home. I'm enjoying my time with my parents and brother while on vacation and I cannot scan through Plex because the server went offline on both of my computers.

I can confirm for myself that W14EE is broadcasting WSMV 4.1 as channel 4.10 and Telemundo as 29.1. I scanned it in on the go with my small antenna when I was about 10 miles away as the crow flies from the tower. It looked good while it came in. I will check when I get home to see if I get it good or if I get it at all. EDIT: I have checked both of my antennas and I forgot that since W14EE is highly directional it will not come in on my bedroom antenna constantly unless I turn it all the way towards Cookeville. My antenna in the attic for some reason will not bring in W14EE. Is anyone in the are that can get it having trouble receiving or is it just my location?

I have found one way for now to receive W14EE but only outside on the Moho Leaf beside my house. I cannot sustain this position but maybe the power will go up because this cannot be the max power for it. I think it is at a reduced power right now but later I can probably receive it later.

I bought a lower end Televes UHF only to mount and aim DIRECTLY at Cookeville/Algood. Then pair that with my HR3. I need to do similar for WTVF RF 36. But I'm not sure how, since the HR3 is my last tuner. The engineer at WSMV told me 15kW is the max they can use. Height going up would help. But they're using an old AT&T Long Lines tower. So it's really as high as it will go. The biggest downfall is the profile limits. But There's a reason behind it I am sure. Good luck Leatherneck.

I know that low powered channels can only have 15 kW of power but the way it comes in is so weird. I thought it would be strong enough to come in anywhere kind of like WCTE but like you said it's lower in height than WCTE and lower in power also. I'll see what I can do for getting it.

I think WKRN has come back to full power. I am receiving at a time that it would never come in at. Anyone out there that can receive WKRN report your findings to see if you have a better signal strength and quality. EDIT: I have seen that WKRN is getting weaker so I know that either it was the weather or they had a temporary increase in power.

It was just the weather. Heat affects my reception like that, and then when it rains and cools down, my reception of a few channels changes to where I can either start receiving them or start losing them. For example, WSMV becomes either weak or goes out completely when it heats up like during the summer. So, I am expecting that to happen eventually in the next coming few weeks. I will probably start losing in the next few days when it heats up to the 90s.

I figured it was just the weather bringing in WKRN in good. Thanks for confirming it was just the weather.

I’ve noticed that Channel 4.2 has only had a title card up instead of Ion Mystery this weekend. Is Telemundo on the way?

Yeah, I didn't notice that until I channel surfed today. At this moment in time, I don't know what is going on or what is going to happen with that channel. I just assumed that the contract they had with ION Mystery ended. I will try and find out what happened and what will go in its place.

Hopefully soon that the full lineup for WSMV will be put on the repeaters soon. I need the rest of the subs from WSMV.

They’ve updated their title card to say they’re no longer carrying ION Mystery.

Thank you for letting me know. I haven't looked at the channel since the 4th of July. I have emailed channel 4 and am waiting on a reply. Once I have a reply, I will post it.

Good to know. I'm interested to see what they put on 4.2. I know the probability that it will be Telemundo is high but I cannot really tell.

Youtube TV recently swapped out Telemundo Chicago for Telemundo (Nashville) Tennessee.
