Rewind TV is Coming to WKRN

- Posted July 29th, 2021 at 10:02pm
I just found out that Rewind TV, a sibling network to Antenna TV, is coming to WKRN 2.4. That is where Grit is currently. As you know, Grit is already broadcasting on WNPX 28.3, which is owned by Scripps, the owner of Grit. RewindTV and AntennaTV are owned by Nexstar, which is also the owner of WKRN. Their website, which you can click here, says they will launch Sept. 1st. The network is just like AntennaTV except they focus on TV series from the 80s and 90s. Until more news breaks, that's all for now.

I’m happy as long as it’s not another “True Crime” or reality channel. Too many channels start with really good programming only to morph into informercials, CSI/NCIS reruns, and Forensic Files marathons. The “true crime” is thinking people want to watch those programs all day when they can be found on several other channels.

I know right? "TrueReal". It's crazy.

Now if they'd only move their tower to the tower farm near I-24. Then while we're at it. Move the tower for WNPX there, and increase the power so ALL of us can watch.

WKRN's tower is on a hill and around 1350 feet. It's near Brentwood. How high have you got your antenna's?

Mine is a CM3020. 20' off the ground. Not the highest, I know. But I can't go any higher without guy wiring it. Native elevation is about 1000' ASL.

20 feet should be high enough but there must be terrain between you and the towers like hills. There is a guy on Youtube called the Antenna Man he reviews antennas. The best antennas he has reviewed has been from Stellar Labs. Have you ever been able to receive NPT channel 8? WKRN and NPT's towers are side by side.

Rabbit Ears even says I should have signal. I am in McMinnville though. WKRN has never really come in very well. I can't get WNPT much either.

I doubt WKRN will ever move their antenna but they are still using an old tube transmitter that will have to be replaced pretty soon and when they do I would imagine they will also replace their antenna. It might help you receive their signal when they get new equipment. That Stellar lab antenna I mentioned before was a VHF only, the best UHF antenna was by Xtreme Signal if you need to upgrade down the line.

They probably won't. :( However I do have hope when ATSC 3.0 goes fully live. If they use a QAM16 signal, I will be able to get them no issues. Perhaps these upgrades to solid state amps and transmitter elements will help too. Till then my hope is on Chattanooga, and QAM16 from there. Lots of "IFs" there. IF they put their ABC on 3.0. IF they use QAM16 for it. IF I can receive it. I can get most of the others ok, Minus WNPX, WNPT, and the LP ones.

For the past week I have had trouble getting a good signal on most all my channels, they play good for a while and then nothing for an hour or so. The 28 channels used to be great and now they are poor most days, wbko 13 channels are the worse I have ever seen. I receive 71 channels but they are weaker now for some reason. I have antenna up 20 feet and I am on a hill with no hills above me at least in my line of site. I live in southern Ky, just about 1/2 mile from tennessee line. I have used an antenna for 3 years and always had 3-4 bars on most channels but now all are 1-2 90% of the time with every now and then 2-3 bar.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this. The only thing I can think of would be that something of yours maybe failing, whether it be your coax cable, a premap (if you have one), connectors, etc. That's what it sounds like to me. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

For some reason today I have good signal again, don't know whats going on. The only change that has occured is the weather has went from hot and humid to cloudy and much cooler and rainy too. I replaced my balun and coax and still didn't help the other day, my antenna looks like everything is good on it. I have never needed a amp here as I am on a high hill. From before digital till last week I have alwways had a great signal except when they were replacing something. I still get 71 channels but the bar on the tv just doesn't show the strength it used to this past week but today all is back to normal. I hope it stays this way. thanks

Yeah, I should of known. I am sort of experiencing the same thing. Until it rains and cools off, my antenna will not work. I think it maybe my preamp. It maybe getting too hot in this heat and humidity. I don't know.
