Repack Update - WNPT and WRTN

- Posted July 2nd, 2020 at 3:20pm
At the time of this post, WRTN is still broadcasting on channel 7 where WNPT will be tomorrow morning at 10am. I just found out that WRTN will not be ready to go to channel 17 tomorrow due to a delay in the delivery of the transmitter and antenna. So, instead of going off the air, Rick, the owner of WRTN, has applied with the FCC to change channels from 7 to 8. In a document with the FCC filing, he says he can change the current transmitter's channel one channel over to 8. It will be the same transmitter and same antenna at the same height as it is now. It will just be broadcasting on channel 8. He also says that this will last less than 30 days. I am providing a link to the document below. It also includes e-mails between him and WNPT. I will be watching what happens between the WRTN and WNPT signals, and I will post when I have more news. Until then, that's all for now.
