Another WJFB 44 New Signal Update

- Posted May 6th, 2021 at 3:57pm
I just learned that they (Weigel) has just applied to the FCC for a reduced power notification. In other words, they are letting them know that they are operating at reduced power. In this filing, they said they are only operating at 17.2kW vs. their licensed 950kW. So you see that is a significant drop, more than I had thought. They have been operating like that since April 27th. Also in the filing, they said "The operation of WJFB at reduced power is not expected to extend beyond May 21, 2021 by which time operations from the WJFB construction permit location should commence." Which means the new signal will be on the air on or before May 21st. Like always, until more news breaks, that's all for now.

I am still not seeing a blip from WJFB. It's been undetectable for about the last three weeks at my location in Southern Kentucky. Weather looks promising this week for the tower crew to finish up.

I scan to check at least once every day … hoping we will finally have a signal (in Clarksville)for the first time… by the end of this week

Yes, I am hoping they will have it up by the end of the week too.

I scan twice a day hoping it returns but so far nothing. I can get MeTV in 1 part of the house from Ch 40 in Whitehouse but my main tv only gets the Lebanon signal so I hope it comes back soon. Also waiting for MeTV+ to start up

It should be back to full strength at their new location in north Nashville by the end of the week. By the way, MeTV+ has already started in Chicago and Phoenix. I don't know if it has started any where else.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know they were moving from Lebanon but that helps me on where to aim my antennae

Just did a scan. 40.1-5 gone. 44.1-5 being received in Dickson. Question: Any word on 44.6 44.7?

That 44.1-5 you see is not WJFB. It is actually WKUW 40. I don't know why they are showing 44.1-44.5 on WKUW but that is what they doing right now. They maybe testing the new equipment using WKUW's signal.
