Another MeTV/Bounce Update

- Posted September 23rd, 2019 at 12:40am
I am typing this at 12:30am
At about 11:30pm, WJFB went off the air. Then right at midnight, WKRN pulled MeTV off and put up a black screen. After a few minutes, they put Bounce on the screen in 4:3 widescreen. Then after that they finally put it in 16:9 480i format. On the other hand, WJFB came back on the air just after midnight, but not at full power. They have the same lineup as WKUW, but with TCT as 44.6 and LightTV as 44.7. I'm not receiving it that great at all right now. Just enough for the channel lineup to come in. That is all I have for you right now.

I have had no problem with WKUW 40. It has been coming in all this time. It began MeTV earlier tonight. It still has all 5 channels.

I am able to get 35,40 and 44 with clear reception. I have the most trouble with 6, 31 and 42. I think it is a nice thing that WJFB kept TCT and Light on their lineup. Light actually has some good programming!

I thought maybe it was just way out here in Smith County. Glad to hear it's not just me getting a weak signal on 44.

The odd thing about 44 is that the days leading up to MeTv's move from WKRN subchannel to WJFB, which the former is over 70 miles and 264 degrees magnetic from my location north of Cookeville; whereas WJFB is 56/267, miles/degrees, respectively (both closer and more suited to my antenna aim), I kept checking to see if I could receive 44 during the evenings, which is the time each day that we tune in to MeTV. Every time I checked to see if we could view 44, it was coming in fairly strong (2-3 bars out of 5); but except for just a brief period after the move, and one day after the repack, we've never gotten WJFB on our t.v. I've got an understanding about why this has been the case since the repack, because it has been reported here that they're still at reduced power on a temporary antenna, and that they'll be at least 25 times stronger once they're done; but the confusing part is what happened between the time MeTV switched locations and frequency until the time of the repack on 10/18/2019. WTVF has been the only broadcaster that has reached out to their audience and communicated, and the only one giving us more options to watch their network. I find it odd that t.v. broadcasters don't think that they need to try and communicate to their viewers, so that it could be picked up via a google search or FB page, etc. I know most of these other channels are fledgling companies, but you'd think that would be all the more reason they'd need to reach out to the little bit of audience that they had before the repack. Thank goodness for this site, or those in fringe areaswouldn't have a clue about what's going on, and I'd likely either be paying for equipment upgrades or paying for cable once again.

The time between when WJFB got MeTV and the repack on 10/18, they reduced their power so they could get prepared for their new channel for the repack, and yes, I do agree with you about more channels should have kept us up-to-date about their repacking status. I have to give WTVF a hand for how they have kept us in the know.

I'm getting WJFB fine here. I am glad to see Light TV still on also. I miss Buzzr though. I can get all the low power stations in Nashville except channel 35. Channel 31 has been off the air for the last few days (which seems to happen a lot lately), so I don't know what is going to go there. Bounce is still on 42.3 as well as 2.2

Thanks everyone for the updates. Any reason for the redundancy on 40.x and 44.x? Do they serve different markets? I can't get channels 35.x so the Buzzr is unavailable to me. Never could get 31.x channels. Again thanks for the continued updates.

My guess is that since WJFB broadcasts from Lebanon and not that very high up while WKUW 40 in Nashville would cover more ground in Nashville and west of Nashville.

Where is ch 35 tower and is there any chance they will increase power?I get 40 fine but 35 is rare to come on...I miss Buzzr

Actually, 35 is on the same tower and at the same height as 40. As far as I know, they are at full power of 15kw, while 40 is just operating at 10kw. The reason, not only you but me also, are not getting 35 as well as it should be is because they didn't install the right antenna. They are awaiting a new antenna that they were suppose to install. Until then, whenever that will be, we probably won't be able to receive the station.

Well then I am hopeful since I get 40 so well that 35 will come in as well

I was so excited, now I'm super sad. Yesterday I could receive all the 44.x channels fine. Today (even after rescanning) I'm not able to receive any 44.x channels. I show a signal strength of 32 max on my TiVo (I think I really need about a strength of 40 for a picture it seems). Anyone else having problems getting 44 after the change last night? (for what it's worth I'm in the Spring Hill area).

I live in Dickson and I get 2,4,5,8,17,28,30,34,40,58 on an indoor antenna and sometimes 13 and 24 out of Bowling Green.I would get 44 when 40 was down, they may be doing some tweaking still so you may get it back

What about WJDE Channel 31? Anyone picking it up? What is their line-up now? I noticed they are no longer listed on the H&I, Decades, and Movies! websites as being an affiliate of those diginets.

I live in Clarksville, and oddly only get channels 40.3-40.5 in the morning. At around 8 or 9:am it starts pixelating and then don’t get the channels until the following morning. But in another room, different tv and antenna, I get the channels all day. Is there something I need to do in order to get these channels all day and on all televisions? Thank you kindly for any help.

Has anyone seen the signal for 44.x coming / going or increasing or decreasing? I moved a small antenna to the highest point in my attic earlier today and that as enough for me to receive 44.1-.7 until 4pm and then it just went to 0 signal. A little later although I couldn't receive a program I found the signal strength had dropped a good bit and now could no longer get a program at all (where I had been able to just a couple hours earlier). Just wondering if it is only me or if others had seen anything like this as well?

44.1 Channels All Pixelate On And Off 35 Does The Same I just Watch 40.1 Thru 40.5 I Hope This Will Be Fixed Soon I Also Lost Court TV Yesterday Around 3pm It Came Back On Around 11am This Morning

WJDE has now added RightNow TV to replace Decades. However they have doubled up on some of their other channels to fill the empty spots lost to WKUW. For instance, Country Music Television is now on both 31.2 and 31.1. I would assume the doubling is only temporary. What's left out there that they can still add?

Thanks for the info. Since I can't receive WJDE 31, I have been wondering what they might have on their channels.
